Contra Costa Health Plan

  • Preferred Drug List (PDL)
  • CCHP Pharmcy Technicians: If you have any pharmacy problem involving a CCHP patient, consider trying to resolve it through the CCHP pharm techs at 925-957-7260, option 2, rather than calling the pharmacy. The CCHP pharm techs are quick, intelligent, and have very short to nonexistent hold times. For Example:
    • Pharmacist says an ARB requires a PA when the patient has had an ACEI cough. The pharmacist says, "I keep submitting and it says 'PA required'."
    • Pharmacist says some particular med requires a PA, where the CCHP Preferred Drug List (PDL) says otherwise (e.g., "Claim pays online when PA criteria met," or simply no mention of PA).
    • Pharmacist says some particular med is not covered, where the PDL explicitly describes it as covered.
